Are you kidding me? Did you forget that you were shooting a funeral? The young man that you choose to sensationalize as 'intimidating' and 'hard' happens to be extremely charismatic and loving. He is adored and respected as a positive role model amongst his peers - a personality trait he can attribute to his Godfather - the man in the casket. Instead of reaching out to a beautiful, young soul for his story, you elected to fabricate a scenario worthy of any supermarket tabloid. Hopefully your continuing education will instill in you a desire to write unbiased, intelligent, and concise information worthy of an educated audience. Good luck, Aaron!

doesn't look like much of a "stare-down" to me ... more like a questioning look - "what the hell do you want?"

As my first editing teacher said, near as I can recall: As a reporter, you may have one, two or three stories in that day's paper. As a copy editor, you may have a dozen. It's your headline that lures the reader in to the story; without copy editors, reporters' work is unread.

And as a former assistant managing editor at the New York Times often said, "It's God's work."

So to all who think being a copy editor is the best job in journalism: bless you.

Live in the 21 century, use 21 century tools, it makes sense to me.

Here is a book I just finished and it was wonderful!
The Conquistadores and the Cryto-Jews of Monterrey by David T. Raphael.
It details the struggle of the Sephardic people's flight into nothern Mexico, escaping the Spanish Inquisition and how many Hispanic Americans in the southwest are decendants of these people.
I highly recommend it.

Well a D.C. girl dragging herself through the dusty paths for hours in Arizona? Yikes, that is dedication. That is passion! Hang in there because as I always say, "If they pay you to do it, it is because it ain't a vacation experience." I always wanted to visit Arizona (Arid Zone?) husband had family there and they would send the Arizona Highways magazine to him for awhile. Beautiful. They also have a great program there for teaching kids about insects in both Spanish and English. If you go to my website you will know why that matter to me.
Ta Ta for now (as the truck drivers in India have painted on their trucks.......)
